How the Energy in Your Business Affects Your Growth

How Does Your Energy Impact Your Business?

Successful business growth is directly tied to how much energy you have. When your energy levels are high, you are more likely to have the mental clarity, focus, and drive needed for breakthroughs in your business. This doesn’t always have to do with the energy levels in your body. It also has a spiritual element. Some people believe that meditation and spirituality are all about refraining from working or making money, but really they can be a part of your success as well. For example, meditation and spiritual practice help us to be grounded and present in the moment which might make us more productive at work because we’re not distracted by anything else.

The Importance of Positive Energy in Your Business

We hear it all the time, “don’t be toxic!” What does toxicity mean though? A toxic environment can be defined as being a business in which the leadership fails to provide a supportive, empowering, and respectful atmosphere. It is characterized by disloyalty, back-stabbing, and unproductive gossiping. An unbalanced root and sacral chakra (stability and confidence), will lead to such negative attributes.

The key to a successful business is positive energy. That’s not to say that there can't be any negativity, but it needs to be balanced out with positives. Entrepreneurs need to create a balance of positive and negative emotions for their customers or clients. They need to sell their customers or clients on the idea that they are going to have a good experience when they are buying their service or product from them, which will lead to positive reviews on Google or Facebook which is what we all need at the end of the day.

If you are an empath, it’s extremely important for you not to get bogged down by negativity as it can affect your growth tremendously. If you had a bad day with a customer or a client, you need to write in your journal and repeat the following statement “I do not give consent for ______ to hold negativity in my body, in my spirit, and in my soul. I ask that my spirit guides release this negativity and send it back to the owner packaged with lots of love and light. And so it is.”

How To Identify Negative Energies that are Stifling Your Growth

Negative energies are often the main reason behind our lethargy, disinterest in day-to-day activities, and an overall feeling of discontent that resides deep within us.

There are many ways to identify negative energies. They can be physical, emotional, or spiritual in nature. What is most important is finding the root of these negativities so that they may be eliminated from your life.

1. Be Consciously Aware of Your Thoughts.

It’s easier said than done, but when you get into the habit of writing out things that are constantly triggering you, then you have made the first step into self-awareness.

How can you do this?

- Journaling. Seriously, get a journal and start writing out your thoughts. It will be easy to look back at your entries in the future and see your growth. I do this all the time.

- Writing out your thoughts on your phone. If you don’t have a journal you can write your triggers on your phone. Do this consistently for 60-90 days and watch what happens. You will be amazed.

- Ask your friends and family. This is a great starting point for people who genuinely are interested in self-growth. Ask your friends, your family what faces, gestures, and things you do that you might not be consciously aware of. Remember 80-90% of all communication is non-verbal. You might be doing something unconsciously that pisses off someone else.

2. Who Are You Surrounding Yourself With?

There’s a quote that I like to share a lot of my social media stories and it goes like this: “Sit with winners. The conversation will be different”. This particular quote has stuck with me because I know that I wasn’t sitting with winners in the past. I was sitting with people who were doing nothing but complaining about how they can’t get their life together because of X, Y, and Z. When you sit with people who are winning constantly in life, they aren’t complaining and in fact, they are always rooting for you to win.

They will share your content, they will create space for you, and share their ideas. Winners aren’t afraid of competition, in fact, the only competition they see is themselves at the end of the day. They want everyone to win!

3. How Much Are You Moving Around?

Believe it or not, this makes a huge difference in your growth. There are studies that show that moving around at least 30 minutes every single day not only improves your physical health, but it makes a huge impact on your mental health too. Make sure you are getting fresh air for at least 30 minutes a day or at least doing some chair yoga if you can’t leave your office. Moving your body around releases endorphins and as Elle Woods said in Legally Blonde “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't."

As funny as this quote is, it’s true. You are a lot happier when you move around. So get up and walk!

4. Are You Meditating?

Meditation is no longer considered a “woo woo” subject matter anymore. Lots of people including high-powered CEOs do this now. Meditation is something I’ve learned when I was twelve years old and I have since perfected it. It’s not an easy skill to learn by any means and you will most likely be in the right frame of mind when you are trying to meditate for the first time, but like with everything else on this list, you need to be consistent at it.

If you are new to meditation, you will need to be in a spot where you are not disturbed for at least the next fifteen minutes or so, and then if you want to put on some meditation music, there’s a ton on YouTube. I also suggest that you try to meditate the first moment when you wake up or the last moment before you go to sleep. You will get many downloads this way!

If you are a veteran of meditation, but just fell out of practice you can also start again by just doing fifteen minutes or more. I have gone in and out of my meditation practices over the years and have always gone back to the fifteen-minute rule. I always start at fifteen and see where I can go. If you really want to challenge yourself, try meditating in complete silence.

5. Have You Shut Your Laptop Off Recently?

This is a big one for many entrepreneurs because there is such a big stigma on “hustle culture”. The work hard play hard mentality is extremely toxic. I know because I was a part of that mentality. It wasn’t until recently that I realized I could still get a lot of work done and still have time to do what I truly loved doing. This is why the 9-5 life was never a fit for me. I was able to get a lot of stuff done in no time and I got even more work done on my plate, but it still wasn’t enough to get a promotion.

It led me to a spiral of if I work 10x harder, I will get 10x more back (clients, leads, money, recognition, etc). All that kept happening was I was working more for less, and that wasn’t good for me. I decided to shut my laptop off and go on vacation to Mexico with a bunch of my closest girlfriends. I stayed at an all-inclusive resort, food and drinks were included. We spent a lot of time at the beach (I had a sunburn that lasted well over a week when I got back), swam in the ocean, went to see the Mayan ruins and the cenotes (underground caves and lagoons). Oh yeah, and the food was incredible. It was probably the best thing I have ever experienced in my life.

I spent minimal time on my laptop during that whole trip. It was a major reset for my brain to just recharge and boy was it worth it. I was able to get more than a few new ideas when I came back and I am putting those into action right now.

Your Business Absorbs Energy, Just Like You Do!

You don't have to be a mystical being or a guru to put out positive energy into the world and receive it back tenfold. You just need to understand that this law of attraction is a fundamental law in the universe. There are so many things you can do right now to receive good energy, but first, you need to heal the energies inside of you.

Trauma is something almost everyone on this planet goes through and you, as an entrepreneur, have faced trauma at some point in your business. What if I told you that your business absorbs that trauma? Everything is energy at the end of the day and I am telling you that if you have not healed your own trauma and limiting beliefs that you put on yourself, your business is going to absorb it tenfold. On the flip side, if you have healed from your trauma, then your business will reap the benefits from it!

Your business is a living and breathing entity at the end of the day. When you are telling yourself positive things, your business will also reap positivity. However, if you are telling yourself negative things, your business will react negatively.

How Can I Fix This?

There are several ways you can fix this and that is balancing your business chakras. Your chakras in your business are in alignment with YOU, the spiritual entrepreneur at the end of the day. When you fix what is bothering you and your business, you will find yourself in true alignment.

Guess what? I have this amazing webinar coming up talking all about how to heal the energy in your business!
